Salem - American Promise is spearheading a 50-state Citizen Uprising with one goal: the 28th Amendment to the Constitution that sets reasonable limits on election spending and protects the rights for human beings over privileges for global corporations and special interests. The Uprisingwill be most intense in the lead up the 2018 elections, and citizens of the Bay State have an important role to play in ratification.

Jeffrey D. Clements, founder and president of American Promise and author of the book "Corporations Are Not People: Reclaiming Democracy from Big Money and Global Corporations," will be the guest speaker at a free educational presentation at Salem State University.

We the People Massachusetts, American Promise, and the Marblehead Chapter of The League of Women Voters are sponsoring the presentation to highlight the central role of each citizen in local action within a cooperative national network. With 80+% support nationally, we will empower and amplify the cross-partisan actions of individuals and groups who are committed to the 28th Amendment.
